Wasatch Hollow Preserve

Protected in 2013

Acreage: 5

Salt Lake City, UT

The significance of this 5 acre preserve is best understood from a historical and cultural perspective as well as an ecological one. This Wasatch Hollow property surrounds and includes the flowing waters of Emigration Creek as it continues through the Salt Lake Valley. This is one of the few places, after the creek leaves Emigration Canyon, that the creek is open and in a relatively natural undisturbed state. It was once a place for pioneer encampments and it is now a community open space where children can study Caddis fly larvae, and operating riparian systems that they have read about in science class.
