Monarch Haven consists of 18.7 acres and is located in Salt Lake County, UT. In line with its moniker, this Property boasts certification as a Monarch Butterfly waystation from Monarch Watch and additional certification from the National Wildlife Federation. This candidate species for listing under the Endangered Species Act and a Utah recognized Species of Greatest Conservation Need is supported by abundant milkweed and nectar flora found on the Property. Sitting in close proximity to the Jordan River, the Property provides expansive views of the Wasatch Front and can be seen from many surrounding public vantage points such as the Jordan River Parkway Trail, Bangerter Highway, the Salt Lake County’s Riverbend Public Golf Course, and Utah Open Lands and the State Division of Forestry Fire and State Lands conserved Galena Soo’hkahni Preserve. Three acres of the land are categorized as Farmland of Statewide Significance and the Property preserves part of an agricultural landscape similar to that found in the Riverton area before the rapid housing development of recent years.
