HIDDEN HOLLOW NATURAL AREA PRESERVE

Protected in 2000

Acreage: 3.25

Salt Lake City, UT

After the children from KOPE (Kids Organized to Protect the Environment) cleaned up the area’s debris and garbage from this urban park in downtown Salt Lake’s Sugarhouse District, they asked Utah Open Lands to help them preserve this island of open space as a natural oasis from development forever. In May of 2000, Utah Open Lands accepted a conservation easement donation from Salt Lake City’s Mayor Rocky Anderson, to ensure that Hidden Hollow Natural Area Preserve will be protected for kids forever.
