The Cottonwood Heights Bonneville Shoreline Trail property consists of approximately 25.21 acres and is located in Salt Lake County, UT, adjacent to Little Cottonwood Road in the municipality of Cottonwood Heights. The area boasts mountainous views of Little Cottonwood Canyon where two prime ski resorts, Snowbird and Alta, are located. Consequentially, it has been reported by Utah Department of Transportation’s (UDOT) Little Cottonwood Canyon Environmental Impact Statement that this canyon alone sees 1.2 million vehicle trips into the canyon per year, carrying approximately just under double the number of visitors. The scenic value of this property is witnessed and appreciated by millions of people, residents and tourists combined, on an annual basis. Furthermore, the Property possesses natural, open space and wildlife habitat conservation values that were critical in garnering a groundswell of community support for the fundraising campaign to raise $3 million.
