RIVERVIEW RANCHES

Protected in 2011

Acreage: 276

Wasatch County, UT

Brooks Riverview Ranches preservation supports valuable habitat for diverse wildlife, plants and riparian systems of wetland, wet meadows, standing water, and mountain shrub communities threatened by competing land use.  Particularly a precious portion of the Provo River riparian area which supports a popular fishery and the natural ecosystem that helps to protect the drinking water supply for the town of Francis. This property’s protection is part of a larger landscape of adjacent preservation by Utah Open Lands and the National Forest system.  Brooks Riverview Ranches is home to the Columbia spotted frogs, Bonneville cutthroat trout, spring and summer habitat for mule deer, year round habitat for moose and is high value habitat for black bear, all designated as species of concern.
