Riverview Ranch's Kamas Pasture Preserve

Protected in 2012

Acreage: 148

Summit County, UT

Riverview Ranch's Kamas Pasture Preserve protects 148 acres of open hayfields visible from State Road 32, the gateway to the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway. The preservation of these pasture lands, in conjunction with a farming management plan, ensures the protection of nesting habitat for the bobolink, a bird species in decline. The conservation easement also preserves a scenic vista, a portion of the riparian corridor of Thorn Creek, angler access to the creek and the farming heritage of the property.
