30 Years of UOL

1990

Utah Open Lands started in Summit County, Utah, as the Summit Land Conservation Association in 1990.

1993

Utah Open Lands protects Willow Ranch Reserve, the first Conservation Easement project for UOL.

1995

Utah Open Lands expands to become a statewide land trust. UOL was the first, and is still the only, local statewide land trust.

2000

Utah Open Lands turns 10, and has protected 19,277 acres of land.

2002

Castleton Tower Preserve is protected, and Utah Open Lands creates a fee-free climbers campground near the tower base. Huge community effort.
