TAKE A STAND FOR THE LAND

YOUR VOICE MATTERS: UDOT Extends public response deadline!

UDOT is currently working on transportation alternatives to alleviate congestion at Kimball Junction. Utah Open Lands applauds this effort but feels UDOT goes too far in suggesting that a new road should be built through the Hi-Ute Ranch. (UDOT's Alternative #2). Not only will the road plow through the scenic open space, but it will also effectively eliminate the existing Millennium Trail through the Hi-Ute Ranch Preserve on the east side of the property.

The deadline to respond to UDOT's Kimball Junction
transportation plan has been extended until February 12.  Take the survey HERE.

We know that your voice matters.  As of today, UDOT has received over 150 individual responses to the survey that was originally set to close on Sunday.  We think your voices made a difference in the extension of the survey deadline.

But more needs to be done. Encourage your neighbors to take the survey and say NO to Alternative 2.  Let's demonstrate to UDOT how important open space is and show them that Alternative 2 is not an acceptable solution for our community!

Utah Open Lands stands ready to defend our conservation easements.  We think that it is important now to stand firm against any alternative that impacts our community's open space.
