PROVO RIVER COLUMBIA
SPOTTED FROG Preserve
Protected in 2002
Acreage: 17
Summit County, UT

The beautiful Provo River Columbia Spotted Frog Preserve embraces blue-ribbon trout waters and vital habitat for numerous wildlife species, including the rare Columbia spotted frog, listed as a sensitive species by state and federal agencies and as threatened or endangered under the Endangered Species Act of 1973.
When sale signs went up along the corridor in Summit County, Utah Open Lands encouraged the landowner and federal agencies to find a conservation solution. Utah Open Lands negotiated a bargain sale and purchased the property in the spring of 2003.
