THE NORTHFIELDS PROTECTION INITIATIVE:
The Visual Hallmark of
Heritage, Habitat and H2O

A VISIUAL HALLMARK

Facilitate climate smart agricultural practices in the Middle Provo River watershed to improve water quality and preserve aquatic habitat.  Measures include low-cost practices such as irrigation scheduling, filter strips, vegetative buffers with native trees and plants, rotational/prescribed grazing, manure spreading, and measures to keep livestock away from riparian zones (e.g., fencing and chutes). Other considerations may include bioreactors, manure storage systems, edge-of-field monitoring, water and sediment control basins, and integrated pest and irrigation water management.
