Wendy@UtahOpenLands.org

As Executive Director of Utah Open Lands, Wendy has been with the organization since its inception in 1990. Beginning as a part-time intern, she is credited with significantly contributing to the establishment of what was the Summit Land Conservation Association (the first land trust in the state) and is now Utah's only statewide land trust. Wendy is considered among the statewide experts on conservation easement transactions and negotiations and is responsible for much of the conservation momentum gained in the last few years. Originally from Massachusetts, Wendy moved to Utah in 1981. She graduated from The Waterford School-Provo in 1981, and continued with her education to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and History from Principia College in Illinois. Since 1990, she has focused her time and efforts on educating both community leaders and landowners as to the benefits of open space preservation. She currently serves on the board of Envision Utah a planning effort throughout the state of Utah aimed at preserving Utah's unique quality of life. Her other interests include back country skiing, kayaking, and her horses.
