HELP US SAVE
KILLYON CANYON |
|
The property has incredible conservation resources including mule deer, elk, moose, numerous song birds and raptors. The property is a favorite hike and bike for many in the Salt Lake Valley. Landowners Tom Johnson and Tracy Burton came to UOL with an interest in preserving this land from development. Just feet away from lots in Killyon Canyon, this private land has served as access for the public to adjacent federal land but could be developed into homesites if it is not protected. The landowners are discounting the price of the property, but cannot donate the entire property. Utah Open Lands has secured a grant from Salt Lake County for $900,000 and has applied for additional funding from Salt Lake City, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and other private foundations. Utah Open Lands will also need considerable contributions from the community to preserve this landscape. If this open space is important to you please take a moment to take the survey and donate (click donate, Note: "Killyon") |
