Richard Clark Memorial Watershed, Nature and Wildlife Preserve
Acreage: 320
Location: Salt Lake
County
Date Completed: 1999
Description: The property
possesses important forested, open space, wildlife, scenic, and natural
watershed values, comprising part of the underground water recharge
area for the resident water users in Emigration Canyon and is especially
important to the water users of the Emigration Oaks subdivision. With
a conservation easement donation to Utah Open Lands, it is the desire
of the Trustees of the Emigration Improvement District to prevent future
conversions of forest land and forest resources to development, protect
and enhance surface and groundwater quality and supplies, protect wildlife
habitat and corridors to ensure biodiversity, preserve riparian areas,
and maintain the natural state and functions of these lands.
