Description: In Summit County, Utah Open Lands' partnered with the Division of Wildlife Resources to successfully protect this working ranch, which also provides critical winter range for big game and the attendant ecosystems. The ranch was recently written up in the Smithsonian for its tremendous contribution to the protection of a herd of 1,400 head of elk. Stock from this elk herd are being used to reintroduce this once native species into former habitat areas within the State of Kentucky.
